Police in South Florida are questioning two alligators found munching on the remains of missing congresswoman and former Clinton superdelegate Corrine Brown. The Florida representative’s body was discovered on a canal bank near the Everglades Wildlife management area satisfying the hunger of two large alligators wearing special “Make America Great Again” hats attached to their heads with elastic straps.
“We’re treating this as a homicide until we find otherwise,” said Davie Florida Police Captain Ed Dinkins hours after recovering the half-eaten congresswoman.
Ms. Brown, whose body was found over 200 miles from the central Florida congressional district she represents, went missing a week ago after becoming one of the first Democratic superdelegates to change her support from Hillary Clinton to Bernie Sanders.
Democratic Party Chairperson Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who represents the Broward County congressional district where Ms. Brown’s body was discovered, is urging calm while the investigation proceeds.
“I don’t want to influence this investigation in any way but hope police will determine, from the hats worn by both gators involved, that this crime was as brutal as it was racially-motivated,” Wasserman Schultz said, suggesting a Justice Department inquiry move forward to determine whether Ms. Brown’s civil rights were violated by either or both Trump gators before or while she was being eaten.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz and members of the Hillary 2016 campaign were among the last to see Congresswoman Brown alive as she agreed to meet with the group which hoped to persuade the Democratic superdelegate to remain a Clinton supporter. Ms. Brown’s DC staff confirmed that the DNC/Clinton campaign meeting was the last time they heard from their boss.
“At this point we’re not ruling anything out,” Davie, FL Police Sgt. Peter Brenner said at an earlier press conference. “The evidence is very convincing that this was a racially-motivated hate crime perpetrated by two alligators supporting Donald Trump for President. However, many outstanding variables remain like how the suspects got the “Make America Great Again” hats over their snouts and heads with those short little stubby arms of theirs.”
